Denise Scherschel started her illustrious marketing, public relations and content creation career as an intern at the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. The real-world experience she gained through this educational opportunity helped to solidify her path toward a Communications degree, with an outside emphasis in Business Management, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
The ink had barely dried on her new diploma when she eagerly jumped in with both feet to join the management team of a super-regional shopping center as their Marketing Coordinator. Within weeks of starting her new career, the memorable events of 9/11 rocked the United States. These events created a ripple effect that resulted in her team establishing an effective crisis communications plan and a new standard for managing and maintaining safe public gathering spaces. Denise also picked-up other valuable skills that included targeted retail and sales copywriting, property management and event creation/management.
Many moons later she joined the marketing team of a multi-state pawn shop chain to help their corporate-owned and privately franchised stores foster positive community relationships and market their unique retail stores and alternative financial products and services. (She also made guest appearances in their TV ads and stepped in as a producer for their television and radio commercials.)
Her personal banking, real estate and investment knowledge was crafted while working for a Nevada credit union where she shined serving on their speaker’s bureau presenting financial literacy workshops at local schools and branches. Other highlights at the CU included media buying, script writing, volunteer management, community relations and copy writing / content management for print and online properties.
Currently Denise is part of our interactive team, where she provides direction on content creation and management for client’s web sites, blogs, advertising scripts and news articles and releases. She also mentors new team members and assists with public outreach and relations through traditional and social media channels.
In her spare time she enjoys crafty projects, traveling roads less traveled, volunteering, traipsing through forests, rafting and experiencing new adventures.
